I have had my pair of birkenstocks for years and they are absolutly wonderful!!! They are finally falling apart and I want to order a new pair (exactly like the old pair!) on line to save money. The only problem is I’m not sure what size mine are. Beore the birkenstock trademark on the sole it says 36 L5, but then below made in Germany it says 45. I looked up Europe to US shoe sizes and the 36 would be a size 5…but the size 45 would be a 12. I’m a size 7 so neither number makes any sense. How do I know what size my original sandles are..because it was perfect!!
The main question I’m asking is where on the shoe is the size written?
I know what size I want, it’s the exact size I have right now. I’m just not sure which number is the one I need.

lol i had to look at my birks to figure this out haha, im a size 7 as well and my birks are a size 38. . . should work for you
Birkenstocks are sized funny, you may want to save money getting them online but before you do that go to a shoe store that sells them and try them on, though you might think you wear a size 7 you may not in birkenstocks.
Yes, 45 is incorrect for your size for sure.
I know this is hard to believe but my cousin wears a 46 europe, she’s a 13 womens!

I have tried those sandals, and they are sized funny because the size 15 I found once said size 51 europe, which meant a 16 would be a 52 1/2!!
ps- I’m a 16 mens so I am a 51 europe!
