Birkenstocks during pregnancy?

I am 19 weeks pregnant and was thinking of buying some birkenstock clogs. Has anyone tried these shoes. Are they worth the money and will they be good to wear during pregnancy.

I have a pair of them and love them. I also will suggest getting a pair of Crocs. They are cheaper than birkenstocks and are super comfy! Can wear them with socks or without – they clean great too since they’re made of a rubbery material. Super comfy though!

Well, I am sure you know the positives about these shoes because you want to buy some, but let me tell you about some things you may need to consider-Birkenstocks take a little while to break-in. I have had some since I was a junior in high school (like 7 years ago) and they wear comfortably now, but it took a good 6 months to get them broken-in. I am also pregnant, and I had to ditch mine at about 12 weeks because it started to snow and get icy where I live. They are dangerous on slick surfaces because there is not a lot of grip on them. So, if you want something to slip on quickly and keep your feet warm-good choice. If you live in a snowy/slick winter climate, I would ditch the idea for safety reasons. If you are looking for comfort-go for Clarks or some other brand. They are more padded and will offer more arch support!

    Happy Pregnancy!

birkenstocks have very good support. I would think they’d be great during pregnancy!! I think they’re worth the money because they last forever, they’re comfortable, and they don’t look half bad.

NO! DON’T DO IT! Both Birkenstocks and Crocs make even skinny women look dumpy and nerdy. A pregnant woman would look like a turtle.

You’d probably want a more supportive shoe anyway. Back problems affect about 50% of pregnant women, and having a good shoe can help prevent that.
