Can anyone tell me the difference between Birkenstock and Papillio?

I want a good pair of sandals, but what is the difference in quality? Is the Birkenstock worth the extra money?

my sister wears birkenstocks and says they are the best. She wears them from the beging of warm weather till the fall. she usually gets a new pair one a year or once every other year. you can get them on sale at some store.
