Does anybody know of any really comfy shoes?

I have a job where I am on my feet the entire time and lately my feet and legs have been really painful. To the point where it hurts to put my foot on the floor let alone walk or drive. My work prohibits any type of shoe that isn’t closed toe. I was thinking of getting some Birkenstock clogs. Are those good? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

rainbow flip-flops are really comfortable, and so are crocs, yeah, they may look ugly but they’re extremely comfortable, don’t just judge it by the way it looks. they have many different styles to choose from, and fun colors (: try them on, and you’ll realize how comfortable they are.

Most clogs are extremely uncomfortable, it may feel fine on your feet but after a long day at work they seem to get more uncomfortable. I would suggest wearing any shoe that is padded on the ground and flexible on the foot. Also, your feet problem could be more than shoes. I would suggest going to a podiatrist. They could suggest something “doctor recommended” so to speak. You may need some type of orthotic as well. You could also try dr. scholls gel inserts where you put them in your shoe in the pained area. Good luck!

I am a nurse on my feet all the time, I find that the dansko clogs are the best. Birks are good too, I think your best bet would be to go to an orthopedic shoe store and be fitted properly. But be prepared to spend about 100-150$ depending on the brand and shoe. But they last a long time and your feet will thank you

Whatever type of shoe you get, make sure that the fit is good.
Also, when you have a minute or two, there are some simple exercises. Every so often, I sit down, extend one leg and rotate my foot in circles for a few seconds, then repeat with the other. Another good one is to stand about 2 to 3 feet from the wall, with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lock your knees and lean gently into the wall to feel a stretch along the back of your lower legs into the heel. If you’re currently feeling pain, you’ll want to take this one really slow.
If this really persists, see your doctor, or a podiatrist. You may want to have custom inserts made. If you have health insurance, these are usually covered.

It is important to get shoes that

    a) are stylish enough that make you feel mentaly comftorable
    b) are physicly comftorable
    c)will match tons of outfits

I dont like the Birkenstock clog idea as I dont think they would be very professional looking… here are some other professional looking let comfy shoes

here are some clogs that are a little more sutible if you are looking for something level with the ground (black, brown or any neutral tone would work)

heres a flat that is a little more colorful and trendy let would still pass the comfort test (any bright or neutral color would do…stay away from bright yellows or greens)

I have been a nurse for some years now and am on my feet all day. I have always worn “ecco” shoes. They are very good.

Definitely try Born shoes- they have good arch support and a cushy sole so your feet don’t hurt after standing for a whole day. They also have very professional-looking styles- brown, black, red leather- some with heels, some loafer-style.

Also, Earth shoes (www.earth.us) are made by a Yoga instructor and position your toes slightly higher than your heel (the opposite of high-heels!) which helps your posture. They are GREAT once you get used to the different feeling, and I am able to wear them walking and standing all day.

You can get both on http://www.zappos.com, where you can easily order them and return them free of charge. Good luck!
