I’m going to Florence, south of France, Amsterdam and Berlin for a month and I’m wondering how I should dress and the weather there.
I heard that short shorts are not appropriate in cities cause well, you’ll look like a hooker.
Any other suggestions how to NOT dress like a tourist?
Is it mostly flowy skirts and t’s and jeans?
oh are birkenstock flops good sandals for walking around in europe or would normal sandals be fine?

you forgot to say when your going. Assuming it summer I would say jeans and t’s are fine at all three. Sandals work in the south of France as would reasonable length shorts, but you will see mostly closed shoes and/or tennies (no white ones please) in Berlin and Amsterdam with the jeans and t’s. Don’t wear a hat, don’t chew gum and be polite and you will do fine. Good luck
If you go in summer to Europe then you will be fine just wearing what you usually wear in summers in the US. The style of clothing is a lot less prude in Europe than in the US so short skirts and shorts will be absolutely, definitely NO PROBLEM! You see people wearing these kind of clothes everywhere so don’t worry.
Again, clothing style’s are very similar so I think you will be fine with the clothes you own.
Normal sandals will be fine, flip flops are very popular everywhere as well. I would not necessarily wear those cheap kind of “shower-flip flops” since they look kind of cheap wherever you are in this world, but there are so many nice, comfortable and stylish flip flops out there you can buy.
I would probably go for nice shorts or a skirt (and they can be very short if you want because you see people wearing them everywhere in summer), a nice pair of flip flops or sandals, and a nice T-shirt.
Don’t forget your umbrella and/or rain jacket at home because it might rain in some of those places!!!
To answer your question of how NOT to dress like a tourist! Well don’t dress like an idiot but I suppose you would not dress like an idiot in day life either?!
Have fun, I hope I could help!
