Would like to know which one is better. Planning to buy sandals and have short listed Mephisto and Birkenstock. Please reply with reasoning which one is better.

Birkenstock, they last forever, they conform to your feet, I just love em!
My first answer is neither. They are both rather ugly. But, if you must, go with the Birkenstock. They are very comfortable (yes I have had a pair) and even younger people can wear them. Mephistos look like something that you have to be a minimum of 70 years old to buy and wear with ugly dress pants and suntan colored pantyhose. Personally, the look of either is not fashionable. The appearance of looking like you live in an REI and Land’s End/L.L. Bean is just disheveled and baggy looking.
Birkenstock. The footbed molds itself to your foot and therefore, they don’t make your feet hurt. I don’t wear anything else, regardless of whether I’m going to church or out on a date.

Birks, hands down. I stand on my feet all day, and no longer feel my legs throbbing at the end of the day. It’ll be like walking on rocks the first day, until your foot and the shoe come together, but keep at it– it’s worth it.
BIRKY!!! As mentioned by some other folks, you may be sore in the foot for about a week, but then you will never want to wear anything else. I slap em on after each marathon, what a treat and they last forever.
I love my Birks…have had them for years. Your foot molds into them they are so comfy..I haven’t heard of Mephisto though, sorry
