My latest pair of Birkenstocks is finally dying. I’ve had them for just over three years, I wear them in all weather and now they’re falling apart. This is my third pair of Birks in about 11 or 12 years, and the place I used to get them from stopped selling them. People have always laughed at me for my dedication to the Birkenstock brand, even though I told ‘em, Birkenstock is German for quality. Anyway, I’m thinking it might be time to try out a new sandal brand. I have a natural aversion to Doc Martins, them being the only natural enemy of the Birkenstock (plus I think their name is dumb – if you want to be recognized for being a doctor go by ‘doctor,’ not ‘doc.’) Before I start rambling again, as I’m prone to do when I get to talking about sandals: thoughts on an excellent leather sandal that can hold up to rain and snow as well as it can to heat and fun?

Well for one, you should have kept this short and sweet. . . you will get more answers that way.
My two favorite brands are Crocs and Tevas. And NO I do not like those god awful ugly Crocs clog things. Crocs now has hundreds of different styles of shoes that don’t even look like “Crocs” at all. . . and it is very very true what they say. . . say goodbye to foot pain and the most comfortable shoe you will ever wear. At first it may just feel like rubber but after walking around in them for a few hours they are heavenly. Also the material holds up great. . . they look brand new months after having them because they’re totally washable with soap and water and the material is very strong. Go to their website (crocs. com) and check out all their styles, you’ll be surprised. . . they’re great.
Tevas are kind of the same story. . . they are very comfortable and durable. And if you like the looks of Birkenstocks/Martins you might like Teva more because they are more traditional like fabric and leather material type of shoes.
Like you I can talk about sandals all day. Tevas are a good choice. But I prefer a minimal style sandal that does not enclose the foot. Piper sandals and Greek gladiator are great. What are very comfortable and water resistant are rope sandals. They can be washed but are not hard wearing. My latest pair of sandals are my Tara Humara running sandals. The are the next best thing to going barefoot.
Well Tevas are good sandals, but the Tevas I wear are Sport Sandals. Teva also makes leather sandals. You might want to give them a try.
jesus sandals . . . but seriously, wearing sandals makes a man look gay.
i wasn’t trying to be disrespectful either. It is my opinion that a man that wears sandals is trying to look more feminine. About the movie thing though, i just like to hear other people opinions about what they read into, or got from watching the movie. Not many people i know like the types of movies that i like, so there aren’t many people that i can talk to about them.
I don’t think Jules is redeemed for “finding god” because as vincent says. . . without a place to live or a job, he is going to be a bum. and what about butch? is he redeemed for going back to help the man that just tried to kill him.
I guess whether people are willing to admit it or not, most believe in karma or some sort of universe driven justice and they like to be reassured of it when they watch movies.
and that said, you wouldn’t want to get in my grill unless you have a death wish. lol
thanks for replying to my comment
