I am backpacking in Europe in about a month, and I need to order shoes so I can wear them in. But I dont know what to get. I am thinking Birkenstocks and maybe Ecco glory/charm sneakers. But I also want a shoes that could double as a shoes to wear when going out. You think I could make Birkenstock’s work for that?
I dont want those hideous sport sandals, white tennis shoes, or anything like that. I don’t want to look too touristy. I was also thinking maybe Sperry’s Boat shoes…?
What do you think would be best?
Keep in mind that we are not hard core backpacking.

For going out high heels and only high heels.
Backpacking over here means doing quite a lot of walking, so your feet need to be well protected. That excludes Birkenstocks and Sperry’s Boat shoes. Rather think in Lowa Renegade or so. Not that sexy maybe, but it will save you sore feet and plenty of blisters. Don’t be be cheap on Goretex when traveling to countries like the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, the Benelux.
