   The type of shoes would totally depend on what kind of work he does. Birki clogs are trendy for chefs and hair stylists etc. but there are other shoes that have better support and cushioning for people who are on their feet a lot. They aren’t as cute but they’re a lot more comfy.

   I think he needs to go to a good shoe store with you and try out the different styles so you have an idea of what he might like better. Good luck!! : P

   Agree with ClicketyClack, it depends on the type of work that he does. If he works in an industry where slip resistance might be good such as restaurant, hospitality, medical/healthcare, grocery or anywhere where there is a risk of slip and fall accidents on the job, you might want to check out http://www. srmax. com.
   It might also help if you know what style he likes: slip ons or lace ups, low profile or full cushion, dress, oxford, athletic, clog, etc. Being able to narrow down the style choices will help you make an informed purchasing decision.
