What would cause a blister on the bottom of my foot, when I have never gotten blisters from these shoes before?

I noticed a very tiny blister (wasn’t sure it was a blister at first) yesterday on my big toe after wearing my birkenstock sandals. Today, I wore the sandals again and now I have a larger blister right below the ball of my foot as well. I have had these shoes for over a year, and wear them a lot, for walking, hiking, everything. Why would I get blisters from the now? Has this happened to anyoen else? Thanks!

maybe they were wet, that sometimes causes blisters.

    maybe they’re worn down

Well, it could be a literal blister based on friction from the shoes. It stands to reason that continuing to use that shoe would make the blister worse. If that is the case cover the blister with a sterile dressing (like a big pad band-aid) and wear a different pair of shoes. If the blister doesn’t settle down, someone will have to let the liquid inside out.

If you mean flip-flops, it may be a plantar wart, also based on friction. These are not as communicable as regular old herpetic warts, but they are annoying. Solution is to wear neither sandals nor flip-flops.
